FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Local Grassfed Burger Restaurant, Farm Burger, to Open New Location in Dunwoody Chef Todd Hogan to Helm Kitchen
Dunwoody, Georgia (September 17, 2012) – Farm Burger, a 100% grassfed and locally-sourced burger restaurant based in Decatur, Georgia, is set to open its third location in Dunwoody, GA slightly outside the perimeter at 4514- B Chamblee-Dunwoody Road in the Georgetown Shopping Center the week of September 24th. Building on its success in Decatur and Buckhead, Farm Burger Dunwoody will bring its local grassfed burgers to a new side of the city while remaining true to its quality in sourcing and preparation, convivial environment, and reclaimed design aesthetic.
"We’re excited about offering our selection of grassfed burgers featuring local ingredients to our neighbors in Dunwoody and along the perimeter,” says Partner & Operator George Frangos.
New to the Dunwoody location will be the addition of renowned East Atlanta ice cream shop Morelli’s Gourmet Ice Cream.
There’s nothing more classic than burgers and ice cream, and Morelli’s is proud to join Farm Burger in creating a one-stop-shop to get the best of both in Atlanta,” says Donald Sargent, Owner of Morelli’s.
Dunwoody's menu will be based on its successes in Decatur and Buckhead under the culinary direction of Chef Dan Latham. Chef Todd Hogan will join the Farm Burger culinary team to head up the Dunwoody kitchen and add to it his own southern based seasonal touches. As well, Chef Hogan will assist Chef Latham in the culinary growth of Farm Burgers currently in development.
"I’m looking forward to joining Chef Latham and the Farm Burger team to continue building on the strong culinary reputation they’ve already established. Their local sourcing and commitment to sustainability in our food system is second to none” says Chef Hogan.
Chef Hogan is the former Chef/Partner of Indigo in Roswell, GA, and the proprietor of Foods to Suit corporate catering. Hogan has had the honor of cooking multiple dinners at the James Beard House in New York City, has held executive chef positions in some of the finest restaurants in the Southeast, and was an instructor and graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, SC.
"We’re excited to bring Chef Hogan to our team. He offers a wealth of experience that will be a welcome addition to the Farm Burger culinary offerings,” says Jason Mann, Partner and Farmer.
Like the Decatur and Buckhead locations, Farm Burger Dunwoody will offer a full menu of lunch and dinner options that include gluten-free and vegetarian options, as well as catering. Grassfed beef and heritage breed pork will be supplied by Moonshine Meats, the pasture-based cooperative founded by Partner & Farmer Jason Mann. The menu features ingredients raised on numerous local and sustainable farms, including the restaurant's own Full Moon Farms.
Farm Burger’s menu is a dynamic expression of seasonality and culinary whimsy, featuring fried vegetable options such as okra and green beans, chicken pot pie fritters, boiled peanuts, and beet pickled eggs. Salads are sourced from nearby farms, and are always representative of the season. Daily specials include everything from oxtail fritters to heirloom tomato gazpacho. In addition to its popular Abita draft root beer and adult floats, Farm Burger Dunwoody will serve traditional and custom flavored milkshakes in partnership with Morelli’s.
Farm Burger Dunwoody’s design will be consistent with other Farm Burger locations featuring a clean, modern yet rural aesthetic. Architecture and building methods employ green practices, including featuring local, reclaimed building materials in construction and design. The restaurant is a leader in waste management, having developed a in house composting system in Decatur and Buckhead that benefits the Oakhurst Community Garden and Gaia Gardens Farm with kitchen food scraps. Their to-go packaging is made from biodegradable, compostable materials, and fryer oil is recycled into bio-diesel fuel. Farm Burger's environmental footprint is extremely low in comparison to its industry peers.
Farm Burger is owned by Partner and Farmer Jason Mann and Partner and Operator George Frangos. Mann is a partner of the restaurant Farm 255 in Athens, Georgia, and director of its two farm operations, Full Moon Farms & Moonshine Meats. Frangos is a restaurateur formerly of Concentrics Restaurants of Atlanta, Savoy and Blue Ribbon Bakery of New York City, and Restaurant Nora of Washington, D.C.
